Influencers show up when there are not many optimizations left

In programming circles, not a day goes by when a developer blogs an opinion about some minor practice or pattern, e.g. how many primary constructors should we have.

I’ve come to realize preoccupation about nitty gritty details of coding does little good.

Real improvements in reliability and performance come from rigorous theoretical breakthroughs, not by changing the number of primary constructors.
