Structure of organizations

One thing I’ve noticed after working in organizations is that individuals in it are given values without any sense of the big picture. Individuals act to gain these values. The rules of the game would almost always require a combination of obedience and independence.

The management then manages the big picture.

For instance soldiers are taught to fight for their country. But when the management requires damages to be done on the home nation in the name of justifying future war or defense spending, these soldiers are called off. Instead of telling them to stand down in the face of an attack they are call off.
