Security through bureaucracy

My experiences at corporations I have worked for is thus: In the name of teamwork or security, a lot of complex Kafkaesque bureaucratic barriers are setup which make change impossible. The downside is that progress is impossible. But on the bright side simple vulnerabilities are rare.

Without government sanctioned privileges/monopolies, most of these corporations would be instantly replaced by leaner, and more elegant enterprises.

Unfortunately customers want the government on the wall regulating everything and the consequent barriers to entry (because of the inevitable corporate favors that regulations results in), all  because customers can’t be bothered to have the vigilance & skepticism necessary to maintain their liberties.

It is human nature to avoid personal responsibility.

I have faith in technology and human ingenuity. Perhaps human ingenuity can be a substitute for vigilance & skepticism we lack. Perhaps math and clockwork will give us what we need to be free.

Until then bureaucracy is inevitable.
