Back in 301 A.D. Emperor Diocletian murdered bankers after his policy of increasing money supply and fixing prices failed to solve the Great Roman Depression.
Today, the wannabe emperors have retreated behind the cover of fixing interest rates, instead of fixing actual prices. But the general strategy is the same, make scapegoats out of bankers when everything stops working. Not to say that some bankers are actually asking for trouble.
The Mob which does not understand banking and its necessity, will soon elect an equally principled Dear Leader to get rid of the scapegoats.
There is hope in the far east where the free markets of the Song Dynasty are being resurrected.
