Free Trade Is A Virtue

Music to my ears to hear somebody talking so enthusiastically and articulately about the virtue and humanness of trade. The almost collapse of the banking system and its consequences seem to have brought about a resurgence of anti-capitalism. As much as we may argue about whether the underlying cause of the credit crunch was under or over-regulation, it’s nice that this reminder is out there making clear how much living conditions have improved for so many in the last 50 years and why: in its essence, a consensual exchange is mutually beneficial.
