I am known, therefore I am

Indians suffer from the need for the world to acknowledge their existence. Actually most people in the internet generation suffer from this need. I used to suffer from this need. Then I read Ayn Rand, and I realized that there is no need for existence to be endorsed by another consciousness. Existence exists and holds primacy over consciousness.

Thus I began to understand the wrong sort of public recognition given to Oscars, Nobel Laureates, Olympians, Erdos numbers, Social web, Billionaire’s list and so on.

When nobel laureates showed up here from time to time, I realized that they never wanted their existence to be acknowledged by the scientific community. They were being qua being. They existed for their own sake. Fully productive for their own good. They took what they deserved and they did everything they could.
